Govt releases advisory as India reports its 1st case of monkeypox

The government has released an advisory after India's first monkeypox case was reported in Kerala. Government said people travelling abroad should avoid contact with sick people, including those with skin and genital lesions. "Avoid contact with dead rats, squirrels and monkeys," government added. "Consult nearest health facility if you develop symptoms suggestive of monkeypox," it further said.
